Papero Giallo Di Raffaele Berardi
About This Spot
Stepping into Papero Giallo Di Raffaele Berardi feels like slipping into a warm, unpretentious corner of Rome where the rhythm is set by genuine hospitality rather than the ticking of a clock. Tucked away on Via Taranto, this spot hums quietly with the everyday life of locals who gather here not just for a meal but for the kind of comfort that only a family-run place can offer.
The atmosphere is straightforward and sincere—fresh, homely aromas mingle with the subtle crackle of the wood-fired stove where dishes like tender chicken are lovingly prepared. Without any fuss or formality, the space invites you to slow down and savor moments that matter: shared stories, laughter, and the unspoken understanding that here, everyone is treated like one of the family.
The menu reflects this ethos with hearty choices that feel both rooted and revealing. From the rich warmth of slow-cooked meats accompanied by humble vegetables to the occasional comforting slice of pizza, the food is a tactile reminder of tradition and care. Don’t expect plated perfection or elaborate presentation, but rather food that speaks in the language of flavor and familiarity—meals that nourish more than just hunger.
At Papero Giallo, it’s the people who give the place its true character. Friendly exchanges with staff who know their regulars by name, a lively ebb and flow of calls for “un litro d’acqua” or “una grappa,” and an ever-present hum of conversation make this a quietly vibrant refuge from the city’s bustle.
Visiting here means embracing a pause in time—a chance to witness a slice of Roman daily life, where kindness is the main ingredient and every meal invites connection.

Lunch place for locals. No fancy tables, no fine dine, but it is authentic, big choice even in the evening. Real Italian family business

The kindest staff, great food at unbeatable prices. Constantly busy with locals. So kind to my family and a family run business. All you have to do is try to be kind and they will run the extra mile for you. So many selections and just the nicest family working so hard. We love Papero Giallo and ate there alot during our stay. Grazie mille!

Food is tasty and cheap. Staff are friendly. Basically a food by the kilo place, bistro style food but the chicken was amazing and the veges were tasty. Plain style chairs and tables but clean and tidy.

Great classic rosticceria with several choices all traditional and home made.
